Article 17 of the Treaty regarding the friendship and co-operation relations between Romania and Croatia
The Parties will assure, on their territory, the protection and the exercise of the rights of the persons belonging to the Romanian national minority from Croatia and of the persons belonging to Croatian national minority from Romania, according to the documents of the C.S.C.E.,to the international agreements ratified by the contracting Parts and generally accepted standards of the international law.
The affiliation to a national minority does not exempt the citizen stated in the previous paragraph from the obligation of being loyal to their state and of complying with the national law of this state, on equal footing with other citizen of each Party.
The Parties commit themselves to apply the international standards regarding the protection of the ethnic, cultural, linguistic and religious identity of the persons who belong to the national minorities and to undertake no activities which do not comply with this treaty.
Each Party commit that exercising the right of association of the person who belong to the national minorities will not be used against the interests of the other Party.
